How to Use

• Clean Markdown: Paste your text and click this button to convert all Markdown formatting into plain text. The meaning and structure stay intact — only the formatting symbols disappear.
• Undo / Redo: After cleaning, tap Undo to restore the original text — the button switches to Redo, so you can tap again to bring back the cleaned version. Resets automatically when you edit or delete the text.
• Copy: Copies the cleaned text to your clipboard for immediate pasting into any app, document, or editor.
• Delete: Deletes all content in the input field to start fresh.
• Theme Options:

What Gets Cleaned

• Text formatting: **bold**, *italic*, ***bold italic***, ~~strikethrough~~, __underline__.
• Headers: # H1 through ###### H6 — symbols removed, heading text kept.
• Links & images: [text](url) → text only; ![alt](image.jpg) → alt text or URL.
• Code blocks: Fenced ```code``` and inline `code` — formatting removed, content kept.
• Lists: Bullet asterisks * removed; dashes - and pluses + kept as-is.
• Blockquotes: > quoted text — marker removed, text kept.
• Tables: Converted to simplified plain text, one row per line.
• Horizontal rules: Standalone ---, ***, ___ lines (surrounded by blank lines) removed.
• Checkboxes: [ ] and [x] markers removed.
• HTML comments: <!-- comment --> removed entirely.
• Escape sequences: Backslash escapes like \*, \_ converted to their literal characters.
• Math notation: $$formula$$ and $formula$ — delimiters removed, content kept.
• Footnotes: [^1] references and definitions cleaned up.

What Stays Untouched

• All regular text — letters, numbers, and line breaks.
• Dashes - and pluses + used as list markers — kept as-is.
• URLs and link destinations — preserved where they carry meaningful content.
• Content inside code blocks — the code itself is kept, only the fencing is removed.
• Emojis and special symbols — this tool targets Markdown formatting only.

The second pass cleans up any multi-line emphasis patterns that span across line boundaries. No AI involved, no server calls, no external libraries. The same input always produces the same output.
